Will You Come With Me And See?

Out in the starlight desert,

they say angels came to sing.

They say a child born today,

will soon change everything.

Who could this Infant be?

Will you come with me and see?

They say the child we went to see,

has grown as children do.

That He is kind to everyone,

and all He teaches us is true.

Who could this teacher be?

Will you come with me and see?

They say He is the son of God,

Who's come on Earth to live.

That He has power to heal us,

and power to forgive.

Who could this healer be?

Will you come with me and see?

They say that in a garden

He has rescued us from sin and pain,

that after death He raised Himself,

so we will live again.

Who could this Savior be?

Will you come with me and see?

Is It Christmastime In Heaven

Is it Christmastime in heaven, where you are at today?

Do choirs sing? Do church bells ring?

Do people kneel to pray?

Do you see me here? As I feel you near.

Do you see me looking back thru years?

As I cry reflective tears.

Christmas was a special day,

we sang together, walked to church, together knelt to pray.

Do you see me here? As I feel you near.

Do you see me looking back thru years?

As I cry reflective tears.

Friends Along The Way

Father of all. I thank you for this day.

And for the friends I found along the way.

I thank You for the friends I’ve got.

And all the friends I know yet not.

And thank You for your company.

When no one else was there for me.

 My Heavenly Abode

They say, if we are righteous,

our heavenly home a grand mansion will be.

I’ve always lived in little places.

With creaking doors and wooden floors.

Whether I’ve been good or bad,

the only home I’ll ever want

is a cottage there for me.

A little place with narrow halls

and family photos on the walls.

Where family may work and play.

And always feel they want to stay.

Where neighbors, ere they roam,

may always find my house a home.

Around the home,

instead of flowers in a row,

a wilderness,

where wild things may come and go.

This is all I ever wanted while on earth I

strode.

This is all I’ll ever want for my heavenly

abode.

The Kindness of Strangers

I’ve often found kindness in strangers.

Often, I’m rescued from dangers.

Thru prayer I find solace from fear.

God’s always holding me near.

My Savior, You Know Me

Do You know that I am lonely?

Do You know I am afraid?

Do You know that I am worried over choices I have made?

Yes. You know that I am worried over choices I have made?

Yes. You know that I am lonely?

Yes. You know I am afraid?

You felt lonely for my loneliness.

You felt the fear I feel today.

You were worried for the choices You knew I’d make along the way.

You can help me thru my choices. My troubled soul you can release.

I can apply to You for comfort. I can apply to You for peace.

God Designed My Life

I see God’s hand,

in how my life is planned.

I see the hand of God,

in all the paths I’ve trod.

In my precious parents, in my beloved wife.

I see God’s hand, has designed my life.

Redemption

I made some choices long ago.

With consequences now I know.

The Spirit tried to guide me thru,

to stay upon the path I knew.

With every little errant choice,

I listened to another voice.

Until I’d wandered far away,

from on the path where I should stay.

You put your arms around me then.

All harsh regrets of what had been,

fled from my heart and from my mind.

Your love is gentle and so kind.

Our Shepherd

In the shadows of the evening there’s a baby

now asleep.

Born to be a shepherd to His father’s little

sheep.

He’ll show us how to live our lives inside the

narrow way.

He’ll help us find our way back home every

time we stray.

Born to bring us peace.Born to bring us joy.

He brings hope to every little girl and boy.

In the early light of morning there’s a baby

now awake.

Soon all our illness’s and troubles he will

take.

Until then, as a child, he will laugh and run and play.

Then He’ll live among us while He teaches us each day.

Born to bring us peace. Born to bring us joy.

He brings hope to every little girl and boy.

In the beauty of a garden there’s a man now knelt in prayer.

He’s praying to His Father for all people everywhere.

He says He is willing to atone for all our sins and pain.

After death He’ll raise himself so we’ll all live again.

Born to bring us peace. Born to bring us joy.

He brings hope to every little girl and boy.

End Of Life

All my dreams are over now, as life comes to an end.

All I’m taking with me is each memory and friend.

Things I’ve gathered on my way,

will go to someone else today.

This body which I’ve lived in since my mortal birth.

Will now return again to be elements of Earth.

Until Christ comes again,

who rescued us from sin and pain.

He also led the way, in overcoming death for all.

Rescuing us from man’s great fall.

He knows the life I’ve lived,  He’s rescued me from trouble here.

When I’ve been in sorrow and when I’ve been in Joy He was always near.

Written as I’m thinking of calling dad on his 80th birthday. And considering my own life and it’s end someday not so far away anymore.
